NOTICE OF RATIFICATION VOTE
TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY BARGAINING UNIT REPRESENTED BY THE UNITED FACULTY OF FLORIDA – UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA CHAPTER UFF- UWF
VOTING FOR RATIFICATION OF THE 2026 – 2029 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING “FULLBOOK” AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE UFF-UWF AND THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST FLORIDA WILL OCCUR AS LISTED BELOW:
DATE: FRIDAY, April 17, 2026
TIME: 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Bld 22, University Commons (area in front of Commons Auditorium)
ALL MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY BARGAINING UNIT ARE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE REGARDLESS OF UNION MEMBERSHIP.
VOTING SHALL BE BY SECRET BALLOT OF BARGAINING UNIT MEMBERS WHO ATTEND THE MEETING. BARGAINING UNIT MEMBERS SHOULD BRING IDENTIFICATION TO VERIFY VOTER ELIGIBILITY.
VOTES SHALL BE PUBLICLY COUNTED AND THE RESULTS ANNOUNCED AT THE CONCLUSION OF VOTING AND COUNTING.
THE PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE 2026-2029 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING “FULLBOOK” AGREEMENT ARE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS:

Items for Ratification (Please read TA’d articles for full details and content for ratification)
Article 5: Academic Freedom
- Revised and clarifying language throughout the article related to Campus Free Expression, Teaching and Research. Selection of Course Materials and Determining Grades, among other items.
Article 6: Non-Discrimination
- Revised language referencing protected classes in “federal and State laws” rather than defining protected classes individually in the CBA.
Article 9: Appointment
- Revised language referencing federal and state laws rather than individual protected classes, similar to changes in the Non-Discrimination article.
- Striking of language stating the university actively seeks faculty from specific groups for hiring vacancies.
Article 12: Evaluation File
- Language further clarifying that the anonymous tenure vote is allowed in the department — this is status quo for process, but is further clarification contractually.
Article 16: Tenure
- Language clarifying the BOT’s role in tenure voting stating, “The Board shall confirm the President’s recommendation of tenure, based on the results of the Faculty peer review process. This action shall normally be taken at the Board meeting immediately following the President’s review and recommendation.”
Article 17: Disciplinary Action
- Language clarifying that letters of counseling are not disciplinary action and that letters of reprimand (which are disciplinary action) are no longer relevant as disciplinary action following two years of no additional disciplinary action. There is also language shortening the written notice of termination for disciplinary action to 30 days. (The previous notice of 6 months was already optional at the discretion of the university and not provided in practice)
Article 23: Other Faculty Rights
- Language adding the qualification of “with an on-campus assignment” to the current language of “Each Faculty Member with an on-campus assignment will be provided with office space which may be on a shared basis.”
Article 25: Salaries
- 2.5% Merit based recurring raise to base salary.
- 2.5% one-time payment (bonus).
- Market equity increase for faculty below 90% CUPA (The discussed document is attached identifying faculty by position and rank, but not by name, who would qualify for the 90% CUPA increase).
- Language clarifying the UWF Faculty Awards will utilize rubrics for selection and that the rubrics will be available in advance for faculty to review prior to submission.
