MOU
UFF and UWF-BOT agreed to an MOU stating that UFF waives the right to negotiate a one-time non-recurring salary increase this year (a bonus) so long as the university distributes any potential bonus to in-unit and out-of-unit faculty under the same terms. UFF is not aware of any plans by the university to distribute a bonus at this point, but we wanted to have language agreed to that would allow for such a distribution if funds become available during the legislative session. Additionally, because of the recent amount of hiring at the university, the UWF-BOT team agreed in the MOU to look at and consider salary compression and inversion next year in the “full book” negotiations. This MOU does not obligate the university to devote funds to compression and inversion next year, but we believe the commitment to considering compression and inversion will lead to beneficial outcomes.
Article 25: Salaries
For Article 25: Salaries, the UFF-UWF and UWF-BOT agreed to a merit-raise proposal utilizing the same merit structure and updating the relevant dates of last year’s merit raise at the same base salary raise amount of 4% for “Exceeds Expectations” on the 2023-2024 Dean’s Overall Evaluation and 3% for “Meets Expectations” on the 2023-2024 Dean’s Overall Evaluation. To be eligible for the merit raise, faculty must have a hire date of August 8, 2023 or before and have received “meets expectations” or above on last year’s 2023-2024 Dean’s Overall Evaluation. Faculty also need to be continuously employed through the effective date (September 14, 2025) of the merit raise.
